Interest Change

I didn't post this at first, but apparently more people noticed and are asking. So to make it official, we lowered the interest for logging in each day from 2% to 1% and added a maximum of 1,000. We did the latter to lessen the divide between those in the millions and those who only have a few thousand. Someone with 100 million points would get 2 million more just for logging in, which only created more disperity. We'll probably do a reset at some point soon, so be looking out for that.

I noticed, is much more fair. A reset would be nice. Maybe yearly?

I'd have a bit of a problem with a reset to a degree. :) I.e. I think reset is fine but not reset everyone of the same 500 points I'd say, may be devide by thousand if members are over a million or something like that, at lesat give peple a little extra that have accumulated a lot of points :) I'll think of a fair system and suggest it

well ... how about 500 points for every million you've acumulated.

That still gives 500 thousand a day to billionaires.

no no what I meant was, as per b's post above saying it seemedunfair to reset all users to 500 points regardless of how many points they had earned, my suggestion was that, for every million points a user has, his score be reflected in a reset so he has 500 points for every million, i.e. a user who currently has 10 million points would have his score reset to 5000, and so on.

I don't come on here for points. The games I suck at, and the quizes I can only take so many times, I don't think the points thing would really affect me one way or ther other. I willprobably never even make it up to 5000.

I don't have a problem with the interest being changed, but what I do have a problem with is the fact that the score awarded for Anagram Mania doesn't in any way reflect how well you've done. Yes, I'm competitive and I like to compete. Is that so wrong?

How would you suggest we change the score for anagrams? We're going to put in some minor changes before a points reset, namely to Hi-Lo and maybe the quizzes to kill off some loopholes and make things more fair. We're looking for ideas for a new scoring system to Hi-Lo that still makes it fun to play, but not quite as easy. Any ideas?

I personally would prefer for points to be allocated per word for anagrams. Maybe 100 points for the first ten words as is the case now, followed by a point or two points for every subsequent word. I find it quite demoralising when having found maybe 200 words that I only get the same number of points as someone who has only found 10.

Hi-Lo? Easy? Nto really lol ... at least for me. In theory it should be easy bu I'm unlucky with it. I think if people have less points their interest should be higher, liek 2%, and if they have a trillion poitns i shoudl be like .5 percent hehehe.

We're always up for new anagram point ideas. For some history, go back through the older threads to see how we've got to the current scoring system. Especially the newer members who weren't here for scoring system one or two.

I don't think that would be good, the one/two point for every word after ten. Only because if there's like four hundred anagrams, and someone gets all of them, that would be like four hundred or eight hundred points. including the one hundred points for each word up to ten. so those that have like billions would keep rising and rising at anagram mania. but maybe it could be, something like ... well this would probably not be possible, but like half a point for every word after that. or one hundred points for ten, then for every twenty words after that, five or ten points?
